Grandma Luxton

My Grandma Luxton died yesterday. Like a lot of grandchildren who live hundreds of miles away from their grandparents, I didn't know my grandma as well as I would have liked. But when I think of Grandma, there are a few things I do know...when she hugged me, I knew she meant it, when I went to her house, I knew there was going to be the most wonderful food you have ever tasted ready and waiting, when she would talk to me, she could always get me to laugh, and when I read her beautiful poems and stories, I feel like I am seeing and experiencing what she was seeing and experiencing.......and, of course, when she wrapped a present, you knew it was going to take a pair scissors, a knife, and two or three good tugs to get it open. I love my grandma and know that she loves me. I am sad for those of us left behind, but I know that she is where she needs to be with the people she has been longing to see....

My grandma was 88 years old and she and my grandpa would have celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary this October.
